Personally I'm hoping that Luminar 2018 offers at that's promised (having paid for the upgrade already). It's reasonable value, but from what I can see of how it works, you'd be just as well of saving the money and looking at Darktable or Rawtherapee. Perhaps it needs more time and effort to learn, but for me other apps get better results much more easily. It uses a similar Folder based filing setup as LR, and most others, and can be used with the equivalent of Albums or Collections, which seems OK.įor me it falls down with editing, I just can't get any decent looking results with it, and the sharpen tools are just plain awful. I do actually have a fully licensed copy of that (being part of a bundle, then hastily buying the upgrade to Pro). (I posted this in the Retouching forums, but no responses.)
I may give the trial Mac version a try soon. I would be interested in hearing from those who have used the product and whether it is a practical alternative to LR. With all the discussions about the changes in Lightroom and alternatives I have not seen much discussion about Corel's product, Aftershot Pro 3.
